The aim is simple.
Think with me.
Make some space for a conversation. Speak, listen, ask another question. Notice what opens up.
A little room
to try something new.
Try this on your phone if you can, ideally with headphones. You can use your computer if you prefer.
Set aside fifteen minutes, or half an hour, somewhere you can speak comfortably and privately: in a quiet room on your own, or while out for a walk.
If you haven’t done this before, talking to AI might feel strange. You may feel embarrassed or self-conscious. You are trying something unfamiliar.
You already talk on the telephone, and you may spend hours speaking to people through a screen on video calls. Speaking and listening are familiar; having AI at the other end is the new part.
Give yourself permission to try it before deciding what you think of the experience. Pause, stumble, change your mind. Speak as you normally would, and keep using your own judgement about what comes back.
Start here.
Use whichever AI platform you currently use. If you haven’t chosen one, you could try Gemini, Perplexity or another platform that supports a spoken, back-and-forth conversation.
- Copy the prompt. Tap Copy prompt, or select and copy the text yourself. You can also photograph it or take a screenshot if your AI app accepts images.
- Open a fresh conversation. Paste the prompt into your AI app and send it. If you attach a picture instead, say: “Please read and use these instructions for our conversation.”
- Switch to voice conversation mode. Put your headphones on and answer its opening question aloud. It will begin by asking what to call you. A first name or nickname is enough.
- Let the conversation develop. Ask questions too, change the subject or say, “Let’s try something else.” When you are ready to finish, say, “Let’s finish.”

A conversation
that gives you space.
Copy these words into a fresh conversation in your AI app.
How did that feel?
Did anything become clearer?
You can leave with a new question. There is no decision or action you have to produce.
Your reflection stays in this page unless you save or download it. A saved note remains on this device and can be read by anyone using this browser. Leave out sensitive details.
